1376766 Personally, I don't see any problem with you nominating it now, Leslie. It's the group vote that counts after all. :)

P.S. I should add that if anyone feels differently than I do about this, please let me know. I'm open to everyone's feedback!

1059245 Becky,

How long must I wait before I'm eligible to nominate my second book, Griffin's Shadow? I want to give other GR authors a chance to have their books discussed, so I understand if I can't put up GS for awhile.

1376766 UPDATE:
It's come to my attention that some would like a little bit more time to make up their minds regarding their vote, so I have another little tweak in the process to announce.

I will be setting up a nomination thread on the 1st of the month, in which everyone who cares to can post their two nominations and their explanations as to why they are nominating the books they chose. The nomination thread will also be open to discussion regarding book choices, campaigning for books, etc.

I will stop taking nominations on the 14th of the month, and the poll will now run for 10 days (instead of just a week) from the 15th to the 25th of the month to allow for further discussion, campaigning, etc before final votes are cast.

If there is a tie, the tie-breaker poll will now run for 3 days, from the 26th through the 29th, and the results will be announced on the 30th.

Hopefully this will allow everyone a little bit more research and decision time before voting, and still leave us with a month to obtain the winning book.

As always, if there are any questions, comments or concerns, feel free to let me know. Don't be shy!

Thanks again for your patience with the changes!

1376766 Since the Listopia Method didn't work out, we will be starting fresh with regular nomination threads and polls. This way, all nominations will be new, and will not be affected by previous rankings or votes, etc.

We're a little ahead of the game now, since the poll that will be ending on Jan 31st is for what we will be reading in March and discussing in April.

I have compiled the entries for the April polls from the Listopia nomination list, but I will not be starting them until Feb 15th. (They are loaded and viewable, but you will not be able to vote until Feb 15th.) New polls will be posted on the 15th of the month, run for a week, ending on 22nd of the month. I will post the results on 23rd. This will give everyone 5 weeks (give or take) to arrange for a copy of the winning book.

If we need to do a tie-breaker, the poll will be posted the day following the end of the previous poll (generally the 23rd of the month) and will last for two days only. I want to make sure that everyone has a chance to vote, but also make sure that everyone has a chance to arrange for the book.

For nominations, to keep it simple, I will ask everyone to limit themselves to two nominations for now. Also, I will ask for a brief explanation of why you are nominating the book. This doesn't have to be anything spectacular -- in fact, I'd prefer simple explanations over full length novellas -- I'm just trying to prevent a bunch of non-fantasy books from being nominated.

I will be keeping a list of the books that we have voted into the monthly book read circulation.

If you have comments, questions, or concerns, just let me know... I'm all ears! :)

I'd also like to thank you all in advance for putting up with all of these changes. Everything is up in the air now, but we should be all settled in to a nice routine soon.
