Agony
	Frustration
		Beating on the plate glass
  wall with both fists
	  unable to pass -
     only able to watch

You were once on the other side, but were
		forced to leave
	--you thought it was temporary--
the door was locked behind you

Now you watch
and see -- yet you're not
  there--on the other side--where
you want to be

To add to the pain, the agony, the frustration, the horror
you unwittingly help
        others through;
hating them for going where you cannot--
cheering them on for their success where you failed

You want to force your way through--
	to batter down the wall--
to be on the other side--
but you don't
	For if the glass shatters,
you're likely to get cut

So you stand and watch
	at the wall--
	clear, yet unbreakable
close yet so far (merely inches away)
straining to break through
 knowing that you won't
