Pearls of moonlight flicker softly.
The murky water ripples in the pale glow,
as echoes of beasts and kings tarry.
And the sad lament of a sea bird
is heard, now and then,
when the moon is high and the water cold.
Dancing through the aureole,
the untamed grass seems silver
even in the night.
Touched by the reflected light,
bent and dying, it strums
sighing rhythms to the ears of the wind.
The sheen against the water is austere.
Still and silent,
like mountain snow.
The softness settles, cool, serene.
The frost lies deep
until the sun rises.

" Two things: I felt there were too many words of description . And the key line for the poem was missing.(But this is a small section of a larger work)...more "
