In the 21st century we are surrounded by everything moving at lightning speed. We have become accustomed to requests being processed at an even faster speed and having access to whatever we want when we want. This is a wonderful illustration of our world's technological advances; to ponder on from whence we came should make us so ever grateful for the ease, comfort, and interglobal ability technology has given us in just a matter of seconds.
A common mistake found today among the believing, I dare say "religious" community is to assume our God or Higher Authority should operate in the same manner. A God whom many of us identify as the author of time and space, a God who controls the universe, who is, much, much, bigger than time should also be, we believe, at our fingers tips' control of processing requests whenever, wherever, and however. When we make this tragic assumption, we not only miss the timing and true blessings of God, but we find ourselves frustrated, stressed, angry, and, most tragically, in situations that were never meant for us to be apart of.
Today's global advances develops a mentality that if we can get everything else we want at the drop of a dime, certainly God who provides us the means to acquire so much in so little time also should be able to operate in this same manner. God certainly can, but will God and must God? What lessons do we learn if we are given everything we want when we want it without deciding whether or not we really need it? Have you ever deciphered your desires from wants and needs? Could it be God has heard you the many times you have requested things but God is not concerned about your greed, but your good? Yet and still, do we not eventually find ourselves in tough fixes and we, after recognizing the mistake, recite the "should of, would of, could of" anthem when preventive measures as simple, but often challenging as patience would have salvaged us from such a state?
Friends, be careful that the bitter/sweet situations that surround you do not choose for you the next step you think you should take, particularly if you are well aware that what you currently find yourself in will not last always. I challenge you to re-evaluate your situation. Why is it there? What is the good and bad symbolizing? What possibly are you to learn from this situation so that you may never have to face it again, and, according to the will and purpose of your life, what would you gain from this situation so you will be more adequately prepared for it should it rise again?
Never, ever make a permanent decision in a temporary situation. Never.
