I've got to be careful with the balloons of my life! My god-
A low-floating helium sort has slipped
out onto the beltway, now one is filling up
with smoke and swill.
These two here are deflating after a simple family dinner
With potatoes and steak conversation.
This one is swelling and set to pop, clearly hoarding itself in a private room.
One is covered in adolescent graffiti. People walk through them
as if they were tow-path signs for Psych 101 and full frontal nudity.
Lord, don’t ask me to count these balloons, because
I can’t take my eyes off them.
