This poem is about the total annhilation of New York, and one man's quest to comfort his lover in her dying moments.
We never found variety,
living in our society.
Now it comes crashing down,
destroying this once famous town.
In my darkest hour,
the streets and alleys i will scour.
Looking for the light,
to end this hour, will take heavy might.
My final hour here to live,
my last breath for you I would give.
Find you dying, bleeding fast,
this moment I pray will not be your last.
Everything, I will try,
to keep you from the world up high.
Fading fast, heart slowing,
the cold, the wind blowing.
The world is ending,
to heavens gates you are ascending.
The buildings falling down around,
destruction abound.
The world must end,
no way to defend.
Chaos surrounding us two,
a loop the city was threw.
Your heart slows,
harder the wind blows.
Debris flys, and my spine a chill,
dying in my arms, time stands still.
Your green eyes, the day so gray,
why did this have to happen today!
The destruction of our town,
world renowned.
Kneeling in this alley,
I walk thought the valley.
The shadow of death,
you draw your last breath.
I close your eyes,
your chest will no longer rise.
A tear runs down my face,
to find you, was a life or death race.
I look up and see smoke and flames,
this city never sleeps as it claims.
No choice anymore,
eternal slumber as-in the days of yore.
My city, my love, both lost,
life and love, such a high cost.
This once great city, my ever lasting love,
both have gone, this day sees not a dove.
My love I shall join you soon,
I shant last till the afternoon.
Because in this alley, a broken man, in a broken city begins to weep,
because his love and his city finally sleep.

wow...that's way......depressing. But very deep. It shows pain, and your hunger for her. It's sad.....but good writing.
