She opened the door and put her hand on the light switch when she looked over at her sleeping roommate. Deciding to leave the light off, she went into her closet to change into her pajamas. Then she climbed into bed, ready to sleep the day off. So much had happened in the last few days. She wished it could all just go away. Sighing, she turned into her pillow and went to sleep.
The dark figure behind the door watched as the girl fell asleep. He stepped into the room and went to work...
The next morning, the girl woke up and felt better. She turned her head and saw a dark pool on the floor. She raised her head to follow the trail of blood to her roommate, who stared at her with unmoving eyes. On the wall behind her dead roommate, written in blood, were the words, “Aren’t you glad you didn’t turn on the light?”
She screamed.
I stopped the DVD and moaned. I really shouldn’t watch Supernatural at night, especially on Halloween, but I can’t help it. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki are just too delicious to resist. They play the supernatural-creature hunting brothers on the hit TV show. Even though I am easily scared, I can’t help watch the hunky pair fight demons and disturbed spirits.
I folded my blanket and looked at the clock: midnight. The scariest time to be alone on Halloween. If watching TV had taught me anything, it was midnight on Halloween was the most likely time to die. Oh well. Nothing to do but go to bed.
As I walked down the dark hallway to my bedroom, I paused to look behind me. Nope, no scary dark shadows. I was in the bathroom brushing my teeth when I heard a faint scratching. I looked around but couldn't find the source. Hm. Must be outside. I walked into my room and slipped into bed. I was about to close my eyes when I heard the scratching again. And it was coming from behind my door.
Frozen with terror, I stared into the darkness behind my door. With a rush of adrenaline and a scream, I lunged for the lamp on my nightstand and turned it on. I turned to look at my door and smacked my forehead. It was only my cat.
