Jesse kept his head down as he walked in a back ally inside the heart of Tokyo. The pouring rain helped cover the tears staining hs face. He was ashamed of his tears, no self respecting vampire cried. But being "alive" for such a short time he thought it was fine for him to cry. As long as no one else saw him. With his head down, he failed to realise a dark figure running towards him. The figure's footstep's were drowned out by the pounding rain. Suddenly the figure was on him, with his quick reflexes he whipped out his knife and had who ever it was pinned up against a wall with the blade against his throat.
"What are you doing?" it asked gripping Jesse's wrist tight enough to bruse. He managed to pull his leg up high enough to kick Jesse in the stomic, sending him staggering back a few feet.
Recovering, he launched himself back at the kid and tackled him to the ground. He pulled the kid's arms behind his back and held his wrists in his hand. "Who the hell are you? And what do you want?" he snapped.
"Nothing! Nothing! I swear! I didn't mean to hit you," he whimpered as he struggled against Jesse's grip.
"Do not fuck with me I swear," he growled. He slowly got up and helped the kid up. Looking the kid over he calmed down and made his voice much gentler. "So what's your name kid?"
"M-Miki," he stuttered rubbing his hands together and looking towards the ground. He was a head storter than jesse with shoulder length black hair and shining green eyes. Looking up at Jesse he asked sheepishly, "What about you?"
"I'm Jesse. What are you doing out here at three in the morning with out a jacket? You must be freezing," he sighed. Jesse with his long brown hair, pulled back behind his head, looked at this kid bewildered. He couldn't of been over sixteen, just a year shy of his age. But the boy had no common sense. His usually cold brown eyes melted into a warm chocolate when he looked into Miki's eyes and noticed something was terribly wrong.
Miki looked away, letting his hair cover his face. "I just wanted to go for a walk," he muttered.
"Are you a runaway?"
Miki looked up, startled, "Ummm...No why would you-" he suddenly turned on his heels and ran back the way he came.
"Hey Miki! Miki!" Jesse called after him. He ran as fast as he could and grabbed the kid's arm jerking him to a stop. "If you think you'll be ok, then you need this," he said stripping off his jacket and wrapping it around Miki. Smiling politly he turned around and walked away from the green-eyed boy.
Miki watched for a moment as Jese walked away. He gripped the dry, warm jacket around him. Suddenly he ran towards Jesse. "Wait," he cried. As Jesse turned around he ran strait into his arms. "I...I'm scared to be alone."
With scilent understanding he wrapped his arms around the boy and lead him down the flooding streets. "You won't mind me cooking right?" he asked with a smile.
Miki laughed, "Unless it's unedible."
"Hey I'm not that bad," Jesse laughed with him.
