A chapter that was taken out!!
She sat down and shrugged out of her cardigan. "I'm sorry for getting so mad today. It's not like they weren't going to find out any way." She smiled.
"Are you still mad at me? I really just wanted you to know how I felt and I'm sorry if I hurt you." I said.
"No really it's fine. You actually got me thinking about changes." she smiled again as if thinking of a secret.
Her smile broke my heart. I knew what changes she was thinking about. After I had heard her boyfriend thoughts when they were talking in the car this morning it was very clear. I wanted the same. Me and her. Kissing in the park. Talking all weekend. Having the best of-- focus! I have to tell her. I have to tell her now.
"Sabrina, listen, I have some news. Now I didn't find out till I got home last night so don't be mad at me please." Her face was full of fear as she nodded slowly. "I'm moving Sabrina."
Her eyes widened. She looked down at her binder in full thought. She took a deep breath and looked at me. "When?" she asked. Her voice was shaking just a little.
"Tomorrow at 8. Krissy is planing for everyone to come to my house before school tomorrow. You can come if you want." I said hoping she would.
Mr. Greg walked in. Sabrina leaned closer to me and whispered, "I'll come."
I smiled excited that she was going to come say goodbye to me in the morning. I ignored Mr. Greg and went into deep thought the whole class.
First thing first. Sabrina looked beautiful today. Her beautiful curled hair was shining under the florescent lights. With her heels she was almost exactly my height. And she wanted me. I knew she did. I saw in Heath's mind the smile on her face when she was talking about change. I know she choose me. But why was she so casual when I told her I was leaving? Did she know about me leaving already? No, because I watched her through Ashton's mind in her math. All he told her was that I had some news. Did she not care? No, that will not be an option.
The bell rang and Sabrina quickly got up from her chair. "Later Day," I called after her when she walked away. She waved back to me.
I walked to my math class alone. Why didn't she walk with me? She always does. I sat down in my seat next to Gavin still in full thought.
"Hey NIght! Did you tell her?" Gavin asked.
"Yes, she took like it was nothing."
"Really? I thought you had a feeling she choose you?"
"I guess I was wrong."
Aw the poor dude. He sang to her and she still turned him down.
"Hey man I'm sorry," he hit me on the back, "guess no one can beat West."
"shut up dude." I said tired of hi talk about Heath.
Mrs. Dawson walked in began her cheerful lesson. I payed good attention today. I really needed to bring up my 85. My mother doesn't like B's.
Gavin and I walked to lunch together. We got in the line and he broke the silence between us.
"I have to admit Sabrina looks really good today." He said looking at the cafeteria doors.
I looked where he was looking. Lacey and Sabrina had just walked through the doors. "Ya I know."
We payed for our food and went to our table. "WEST!" Gavin held up his hand and Heath slapped it. "Oh Night sorry, but I can't come to your departure tomorrow. Gavin can't either. We have morning detention."
"Oh, ya I'm sorry I forgot man." Gavin said. Lacey hit him on the arm in disapproval.
"Heath Noah West what will your mother say!" Sabrina gasped.
Heath roared into laughter. Sabrina looked at me from the table and smirked, as if to say "see we do have good times."
"Your still mad about that?" I asked sounding annoyed.
"Well you shouldn't have brought it up yesterday." She hissed.
"Just drop it Sabrina. I'm leaving to South Carolina tomorrow." Her face fell and hr eyes saddened.
When i saw her change of face I felt bad for what i said.
What the hell happened yesterday! Did they fight? Why won't any one tell me?
I decided to change the subject. "So Heath before I leave I just wanted to ask you one question. Why don't you like me?"
I figured it was perfect time. He didn't like me and I knew that for a fact. I could read his mind.
Heath shifted in his seat. "Well, I know you have a thing for my Sabrina." Sabrina stopped chewing and her face turned red. Heath looked at her and smiled. "Sorry I just blew you cover Night." He laughed.
I smiled at him. "Oh you didn't West. She already knows."
He sat up and stared me down. "Well she didn't dump me so it doesn't even matter."
"Yet," I muttered. Sabrina spit lemonade all over me. She threw her hand over her mouth and swallowed. Heath was staring at me angrily. The whole table was staring at us three. I met eyes with Sabrina. Her face was as red as a tomato.
We both started laughing. I wiped my face and she whispered sorry.
"What did you say?" Heath growled.
"I said sorry, Heath. I just spit in his face." Sabrina said.
"Not you! Him!" He pointed at me.
"Yet." I said knowing all the cussing going on in his head that was for me.
He stood up and I glanced over at Sabrina who was helping Krissy clean up her spray mess.
"Come on Night, you and me. Right now. I will take you down." Heath said trying to sound tough. I kept my eyes on Sabrina. She looked up at Heath her eyes wide with shock.
"Sit down dumb a**!" She hissed. He sat down. "He isn't going to fight you. I don't want him to fight you. Your stupid for thinking a fight would fix thing. Plus he's leaving tomorrow."
I was shocked. Sabrina only cussed when she was really mad. I knew she liked me back. She just has to.
"I wouldn't care if he was going to die tomorrow." Heath said to her.
I wasn't shocked but she was. She stood up and grabbed her trash. "Well then i guess you wouldn't mind if I left right now." she walked off and Lacey and Krissy followed right behind her.
"Thank you Night. Now she is mad at me." Heath said.
I looked at all that was remaining at our table. Poor Ashton looked scared to death. Gavin just looked kinda mad.
Heath is such an a**. I hope Sabrina likes Landon.
"Your welcome," I smiled at Heath. "Ashton want to catch up with the girls?"
He nodded and quickly hopped out of his seat. We started walking out.
...wish he was dying tomorrow. He is to much trouble for Sabrina and me. At least I still have Gavin here. Heath thought.
I'm going to follow them I don't want Heath to think I'm on his side.
I stopped and Ashton looked at me.
"Hey guys wait up," Gavin called after us.
"Gavin what are you doing?" Heath asked appalled.
"Picking a side," he said simply and came up to us.
We walked out of the cafeteria and into the hallway. I would have listened to his thoughts but I decided not to. I figured the girls would be at Sabrina's locker so that's were i went.
Aww, Landon followed her. He is so sweet and loves her. You can definitely tell. I bet he came to see if she was okay. Krissy thought.
We were about 5 feet away from the girls. When we go there Gavin went straight to Lacey.
"Are you okay Sabrina?" I said to amuse Krissy.
Krissy's eyes popped and she giggled. "Sabrina looked at her, then at me. "Ya, I was planning on breaking up with him after school anyway." Everyone gasped and she smiled.
"Really? Oh this..." Lacey trailed off.
"Isn't wonderful?" Krissy asked her. She sounded depressed.
"I didn't do it to be with Landon. I just like the ides of change." She looked at me. "He's no fun." She smiled.
I laughed. "I wish you didn't have to leave." Lacey said to me.
"Me too." I gazed at Sabrina who was looking at me.
Sabrina sighed and wrapped her arms around me. Krissy and Lacey's Thoughts were nothing but things like, "They should be together" and "I wished Sabrina liked him". I hugged her back and closed my eyes.
"I love you," Sabrina whispered.
My eyes flew open. I knew it. I smiled. "I love you too," I whispered.
Krissy and Lacey gasped. Sabrina let go and smiled.
"Uh, guys we are going to be late for class," Ashton said.
"Oh, great." Sabrina sighed. "History with Heath."
"So, I'll be with you." I grabbed her hand and she laughed.
YAY! Krissy's thoughts were ecstatic.
We walked in together. Heath was already sitting in his seat. He was chatting with the guy next to him. He didnt notice us walk in, hand in hand.
Sabrina let go of my hand and sat in her seat. She turned around, her eyes wide with worry. I chuckled.
"Just turn around. Don't worry," I smiled at her reassuringly.
She sighed and turned back around.
I leaned closer to her. "Look at the big scary football guy." I whispered in her ear. "He thinks he is so cool but news flash. You just got dumped." She giggled. "But don't worry your girl is taken. So you can get the big stick out your--"
Sabrina Turned around and put her hand on my mouth. She was laughing out loud. "Shhhh!" she said still laughing. I smiled under her hand and lick her hand.
She laughed even louder. "Gross!" She wiped her hand on her jeans, then put it back over my mouth. I kissed it this time. She laughed some more.
What the heck-- Wait thats Sabrina.
Heath turned around. Sabrina was still laughing. I put my hand over her mouth trying to make her stop. Of course it didn't work. She laughed more and Heath looked more angry. I pulled my hand off hr mouth and took her hand off mine.
What is she doing with him! She should be siting in this chair quietly waiting for me to apologize. Not Laughing with the root of our problem.
The teacher came in and told us all we were going to do today was work on some worksheets. She passed them out and left the room. Great now there was no adult supervision.
Heath was about to explode at her and I knew it. She saw the worry in my eyes and turned around. She gasped and I looked through Heath's eyes to see her face. She looked frightened. The laughter in her eyes was all gone.
"Hi Heath," Her voice was shaking.
"Hi Sabrina," He said trying to mock her cute voice. "What the heck do you think your doing?" Still mocking.
She quickly picked up her pencil. "Doing what I'm suppose to be doing." She smirked up at him. "What do you want?"
Heath grabbed her hand. "Sabrina I--
I knew he was about to give a stupid apology so I interrupted.
I leaned over Sabrina's shoulder. "Look Heath, Sabrina's tired of your boring romance. She also doesn't want to be locked up in your chains. So if you could would you please get your--"
Sabrina burst into laughter and Heath stared at her. I took my right hand over her other shoulder and put in on her mouth. She shut her mouth but was still shaking in laughter.
"Hands off her." I continued. Sabrina realized her mistake and started laughing harder. Heath quickly moved his hand.
She tried to keep the noise. Her curls bounced up and she fell over on her desk. She had her arm under her head; she was still laughing. She had taken my hand and put it in hers. I let go. Her head shot up.
"Your going to twist my arm off," I laughed. She giggled. And yes Heath was still watching us.
Sabrina dropped her left hand off her lap. I took it with my left hand under the table. Holding her hand gave me comfort. I loved it and was glad she was holding my hand and not Heath's.
Why is he holding her hand! She doesn't even like him! Right? She spit in his face so no she doesn't.
I whispered in her ear again. "He is still watching. His beady little eyes watching us carefully. I wonder if he didn't understand what I said."
She giggled. "Hi Heath. I 'm really sorry but I don't want to be with you anymore. You have really become a jerk. I'm going to be with Landon. If it's okay with you." His jaw dropped. Sabrina smiled.
"No it isn't okay with me," he said feeling confident.
She laughed, "Too bad."
Heath turned bright red and turned back around. Sabrina and I laughed. Then the bell rang. We gathered our stuff and stood up. I grabbed her hand again and we walked out the class. We talked a little but then we were at the gym.
"Later Day!" I said as she walk in the gym.
"Later Night," she called.
I walked to my english class. I was actually afraid considering I would be with Heath.
When I walked in I saw Heath staring the door. All the blood ran from my face.
I'm going to punch him. He completely brain washed my sab-- There he is! Ha he looks all pale and scared. Ha He should be!
I went and sat in my seat. Heath got up and came to me.
"You brain washed my girlfriend." He threw his fist at me but I caught it.
"Your such a dumb a**. Sabrina does not want to be with you. She finally sees your jerky side. And your just romance, no fun. Sabrina wants fun romance. So please, while I'm gone, stay away from her. Oh and just to tell you," I brought my voice down, "I always know what your thinking." I dropped his wrist. He swung it at me and I grabbed it, again. "I told you, I know."
What the heck is he talking about. He is such a freak.
"If I'm a freak then so is Sabrina." I smirked at his pale, scared face. "Who is pale and scared now?" Heath went at sat in his seat.
Dude he read my mind. I'm never going to mess him again. Thay is so weird. I hate him. I bet he knows what Sabrina's thinking. Ah heck, he is probably listening right now.
Sadly i had the desk right next to Heath. He looked over at me. I smiled, "No, I can't read Sabrina's mind." He quicky turned his head.
********
After going to my locker I went to Sabrina's. She was diging in her locker for somthing. She finally found it and put in her bag. I walked up behind her. I put my hands over her eyes.
She giggled, "So we are coving eyes now?"
I laughed and dropped my hands. She shut her locker, then turned around. I took her hand and he walked out to the parking lot.
"Well at least I got one day with you." I sighed when we were getting close to her car.
She stopped and put her finger on my lips. "No, your not leaving tommorrow."
"Sabrina, I hav--"
"Shh," she dropped her finger and continued walking.
She didn't want to believe I was leaving. I understood that. I didn't either. I guess it is kinda better to prented like tommorrow is just another day. We stood her car for a second then she looked at me.
"Bye Landon see you tommorrow," she smiled.
"Bye Sabrina," I said. Then she wrapped her arms around me.
She let go and we started leaning closer. My lips were almost to hers and then... "I have to go," she whispered. She backed away and got into her car.
I wished I could stay with her forever but I couldn't I had to go. Just like tommrrow, I will have to go.
