Zero-Forty-Two - Chapter One- 042 by Joseph
description:
The world is engulfed in chaos, being torn apart by crime and disaster. All the major scientists and doctors have moved to space stations to research how to fix the crisis. On the ground, the two remaining governments- the New U.S.A and the Asian Continental Empire, or ACE - are getting further and further away from peace and are approaching war. The only way to stop it is by a miracle.
And that's just what Kilo Vertz invents - a device that can turn stress and danger into a beneficial situation. But when it gets stolen, the world actually gets closer to doom...
(Note: Some of this may seem far-fetched, like some of the stuff in chapter 14, but it will be explained later)

Chapter 18- No More
The steel door swished open, revealing a pitch-black room. Not even the light from the hall entered the room. Kilo burst into the room, closing the door behind him. Once he was in, he saw what he was looking for: The Zero Device. Nobody knew what it did, not even Kilo, and he invented it.
It was a small green cube with a glowing white sphere in the center. Cords and buttons protruded out of it in way that made the device seem like it had been slapped together. Kilo picked it up and tire the cube apart. What he really needed was the white sphere, something he called the "Infinity Device." The green cube was the true Zero Device.
Kilo pulled a large metal ring out of his pocket and put the Infinity Device into it. "Negative Device. Sweet," said a voice behind Kilo.
Kilo whirled around, startled. A tall man stood there, wearing a black trenchcoat and black sun glasses. "Whirlpool," Kilo said. "I should've known. You're the guy who hired the assassins, aren't you?"
Whirlpool gave an evil chuckle. "Of course! Why wouldn't I want the Negative Device, Kilo? If I have that, I have the Earth. Now, hand it over, or..." Whirlpool grabbed his gun.
"Or what?" taunted Kilo.
"You'll die anyway," Whirlpool said as he fired his gun.
