"Welcome to the Delta Gamma Zeta House where college life is all about fun and sisterhood," a girl was welcoming us into their sorority house.

I wasn't sure if she was the president or another officer of the sorority. She looed like a model -tall, fair-skinned and well dressed with the latest fashion looking more like Trixie. Her hair was long and was curled in the ends and it suited her.

"You are all rushing to be a pledge of the house so we have the first task for you wherein you can prove to us that you're a real DGZ girl, okay?" she smiled sweetly though I felt the hairs on my neck rise.

"The first task is to earn money by soliciting from students in the school for charity. And of course, you can not tell them that you are doing this because you are rushing. No, no, my dears. You are to solicit for charity in the name of the Delta Gamma Zeta Sorority and not because it is a task for you to be accepted as a pledge," she continued making ti clear that this wasn't a task thpugh it was.

"We will teach you how you will be doing it and we will distribute the solicitation letters tomorrow," another girl said. She was beautiful too and with dark brown hair which was braided in two bunches.

Everybody was chatting now. They were talking about the first task and their voices were filled with excitement and confidence that they'd be getting the most solicitation money. I was a bit nervous because I'm really not good in this kind of stuff and I wondered if I could make it as a pledge.

"The first task is so easy. I have met so many people now and they are first targets," Trixie was telling me as she joined the others doing the same.

"Um Criselda, right?" the second girl who talked a while ago asked me and I was surprised but hid it in he sweetest smile I could show.

"Yes, Criselda Vonner but they call me Cris," I introduced myself.

"Yes, Cris," she smiled sickly sweet, too.

"I am Vanessa Layman and is the current pledge chair now which doesn't mean that I'm still a pledge but means I'll be the one taking care of the new accepted ones and I think..." she trailed off and looked at me from head to toe.

"You are most highly accepted," she said with sincerity in her eyes and I felt flattered.

"Thank you, Vanessa," I said and couldn't think what else to say.

"Oh no, my dear Cris," she said and I was surprised. What have I done wrong?

"Call me Vannie. That's what they call me," she smiled wider and sweeter and I felt relieved. I thought I did something wrong.

"So I'll help you out with the first task if you want. I can-" she was offering help and I didn't know if she was only testing if I would be a cheat or not.

"No. I can manage, Vannie. Thank you very much. It would be unfair to others if..." I trailed of and looked at her faced. I felt like I have offended her feelings by not accepting her offer but she was smiling like she was very glad for something.

"Truly said like a true Delta Gamma Zeta. You have additional points for that," she whispered with smiling eyes.

The first meeting was over and so much relief filled me.

"Have you met all the sisters?" Trixie asked me as we changed our clothes to pajamas. Her eyes were filled with amazement and she looked at me with dreamy eyes.

"You're scaring me with that dreamy tone of yours," I said looking at her.

"Oh, shut it, sis! I've met everyone except Vanessa of course," she said.

"It's Vannie," I corrected her.

"Yeah, like bunny with ferocious teeth and icky toenails and-" she said and I wondered what she was talkig about. She looked like she hated Vannie.

"What are you talking about?" I asked her and then I remembered Vannie's last name- Layman. That was also Trixie's last name.

"Hey, you have the same last names!" I figured.

"Well, she's my cousin unfortunately and we so much hate each other," she said and I was surprised.

"But she's the pledge chair. YOu can't act like that now," I told her.

"Yeah, I know. So I'm thinking of how to make her like me or at least not hate me," she wondered and I yawned. I was sleepy now. It was a busy day.

"Hey! Don't sleep on me!" she said but I stuck my tongue on her and looked the other way and closed my eyes. She threw a pillow at me but I ignored her. I just smiled and fell into dreamland.
