My pale moonlight colored dress made a swishy noise across the marble floor as I walked slowly down the grand stairs. All the faeries in the ballroom were silent as they gazed in awe at me. Mark was sitting next to my father, Ruler of Meseiso, his eyes shining proud towards me. I smiled with my white teeth, and I raised my hand. On cue, the midnight chime rang, and the fairies cheered. Today was my 19th birthday. One more year until I was Queen. Mark was already "King", it's just that there was this tradition that both of the couple had to achieve the age in order for the original King and Queen to step down. Everybody was cheering with joy.

I was twirling around with Mark as my partner when all of a sudden, one of the messengers burst in, gasping with breath, blood dripping down from his right arm. Everybody gasped as she scrambled across the floor to us. "Royal Highness! Please! Something, I don't know what, is happening. Green grass is turning yello, the flowers are losing their sweet scent, I've also seen many birds fallen dead! I've seen the culprit, and you mu~" He choked and fell down, dead at my feet. My wide eyes glanced up to Mark's warm brown ones. He pursed his lips. Something was going to happen.
