Clay Girl
I gave her eyes;
deep, rich like cerulean skies.
I created her from a dream
out of nothing.
She emerged
out of nothing.
I made her laugh, sweeter than the bird’s dawn song
out of nothing.
I look at your face now
And search.
I created you out of nothing,
now all I see is clay.
