Daniel's lips were soft against mine. It was routine now, the way his arms curled around my waist, the way my hands tangled in his brown curly hair. I loved him and I could tell at times like this that he loved me too. His lips followed along my jaw slowly. His eyes opened as he brought his face up to meet mine. A smile formed on his angelic face. I couldn't help but to laugh.

"I love you," he whispered against my collarbone.

"I love you, too." Heat coursed through my veins as his hands followed along my arms.

"Daniel, are you home?" Daniel's mom called from downstairs.

"Shit!" Daniel hissed as he slid off the bed. He grabbed my arm and pulled me with him. He fastened the few buttons on my shirt that he managed to get through. I laughed quietly.

"Coming!" He called as he opened the door.

I pulled my hair into a pony tail so that she wouldn't be able to see how messed up it was. We ran down the stairs quickly.

"Hi Mrs. Johnston," I said as I entered the kitchen, out of breath.

"Oh, Melanie I didn't know that you were here this afternoon. How are you?"

"Great, How was lunch with my mom?" I smiled sweetly. She and my mother were best friends and have been since I was about two.

"Oh, it was fabulous. Will you make sure your mother doesn't forget about our weekend plans?"

"Sure," I said. I glanced at Daniel. He was rocking on his heels, biting his lip. "Bye Daniel." His face snapped up to mine.

"Uh, I'll walk you to your car." Daniel took my hand and led me out the door.

Daniel eased up immediately once we were outside. His hand wasn't as rough against mine.

"She knows that we are together, why do you act so nervous?" I laughed as he leaned against my car door.

"Yeah, but does she know what she might walk in on after school?"

"Oh, it's not like we're doing things that she doesn't already know we're doing," I laughed.

"Either way," he said as he leaned forward, his lips touching mine.

"Daniel, get in the house! Why couldn't you just stay friends? It was much easier to allow her in your room!" She was standing in the doorway.

"I have to go," I whispered, pulling away.

"It was fun when we were little, wasn't it?" he laughed.

"Oh, you liked me the whole time,"I laughed.

"Yeah, but it's fun to remember," he whispered.

Yes, to remember......
