Days to Remember in September
Following the completion of a 364–page novel, a 111–page book of poetry, and a 356–page book of creative nonfiction, all in 2007, my brain went on strike for a while. Fortunately, after some very civil negotiations, it has agreed to get back to work and I can now report on some forthcoming projects.
One of my favorite current projects is actually something regarding which I’ve been asked to carefully edit any public comments. Hmmm, I will try very hard to do that. So for the moment let’s just say it is a team effort involving my writings, the work of an accomplished composer, and that of an award-winning fine artist. Was that saying too much? Hope not.
Something that I can very happily confirm, and express gratitude for, is that I will be the featured poet in The SMOKING POET Fall 2007 Ezine slated for online publication at some point this month. Among the eight poems by me presented in the issue are two that have never been published before: “Tybee Island Love Storm” and “Poem Found Running Naked through a Southern Rock Garden.”
Although my novel hasn’t made it into regular hard print yet, I’m exploring ways to transcribe/convert it into a graphic novel. If there are any artists out there of the graphics persuasion who might be interested in such a project, I’d be glad to communicate with you about the possibility.
So that’s probably enough sneaking and peeking for the moment.
