Autumn makes its vivid presence,
When the hues of the leaves begin to alter,
Like a fruit ripening,
The bold green color disappears,

And then warm, oranges, yellows, reds, and browns set in,
Taking the previous places of other colors,
And when they do, the trees start to brighten,
Their colors beaming proudly,

The leaves gather on the ground,
A bunch of old friends finally coming together,
The air turns cold and crisp,
Fall has made its mark,

Leaves are swept away,
Thrown carelessly into the trash,
But, among everyone else,
I keep them, and admire them, forever......
