From inside my house,
I gaze outside the frost-coated windows,
Watching the snowflakes hit the bare surface of the ground,
Everything outside stands still and silent,
Awaiting the fate of winter,
Waiting to endure such chilly, blustery times,
The sun is swallowed by troops of clouds approaching above,
Sending more armies of snow to conquer the land below.
As time passes, the army succeeds in their duty,
The snow transforms the entire neighborhood into a complete town of icy white,
The cold devouring all kinds of heat and warmth,
The lakes transforming into hard, slippery chunks of solid ice,
Winter wins the battle, defeating autumn for the year,
The wind picks up, sweeping the freshly-fallen snow like a giant, invisible broom,
A blizzard may be growing...
