Five o’clock in the morning Jeff arrives at Beth’s apartment
and rings the buzzer. Awakened by the sound, she rolls out
of bed and ambles to the living room. She responds to the
call pressing the intercom button with a sluggish voice.
“Who is it?” Jeff moves closer to the box and leans in to
talk. “It’s me, sweetheart.” At the sound of his voice Beth is
now wide-awake. “Hey, honey bunny, hold on.” The buzzer
sounds, he opens the gate and walks to the apartment. Jeff
knocks on the door and notices it’s already ajar. “Hey baby,
I missed you.” Beth jumps out from behind the door and
lands in his arms. “Hey baby, I missed you too.” He closes
the front door and without wasting any time he takes her by
the hand then escorts her to the bedroom.
After their sexual encounter Jeff looks at the clock on the
nightstand and gets out of bed searching for his clothes on
the floor. “Shit, I’m late. I have to go baby.” Beth fluffs a pillow
and props it under her head. “You promised to spend the
day with me.” He pulls up his pants and fastens them then
tightens his belt. “I know but something came up at the last
minute.” Beth suddenly sits up and slides to the edge of the
bed. “Can I go with you?” He bends over and kisses her on
the cheek. “Naw baby, besides I have to do something at the
office. Walk me to the door.” She gets out of bed nude, takes
him by the hand and walks to the door. Beth stands in front
of the door blocking the knob with a sad look on her face.
“You promised.” Jeff kisses Beth on the lips slightly shifting
her away from the door. “I’ll make it up to you, I promise.”
She opens the door and stands to the side so no one can see her from the hallway. “Ok, are you going to call me later?” Jeff leaves the apartment and stands in the hallway. “Yes, I will call you.” Beth peaks her head around the door keeping her body from being exposed. “Love you.” He waves to her with his hand then walks away. “Ok, bye.” Beth closes the door and Jeff walks down the corridor looking at his watch.
