Rain
The harsh rain of cricket chirps
Descends upon my ear
Scrubs with hundreds of grating calls
The serenity of the stormless night
Is this their plea or is it mine
To rinse away discord
The scars and pain of ceaseless strife
Their screams for the showers' healing calm
Yet the deluge of waters pouring down
Has already washed away
The hatred of the recent past
To leave today exposed and raw
So now the chirps are sharp as knives
And each unkindness draws
The burning, bloody sounds of hate
From the thick oppression of this night

This poem is just lovely. It explains why we write without becoming arrogant.

I (and I think a lot of us on this site) have felt what you've expressed in this poem...but you have expressed it so very eloquently.

Being a chocholate addict, I totally agree with the sentiment of this poem.
Great job!
