Just before the play
On the way to get a box of chocolates
There was a sign
Encouraging a late entry
Into the presidential race.
And amidst all the unconvincing claims
Of superior intellect
There is something sweetly appealing
In an allegory of life
From my Hershey purchase
And judging intelligence
Or lack thereof
From its deeds
From what it does.
So, yes, run!
O, if he only could!

This poem is just lovely. It explains why we write without becoming arrogant.

I (and I think a lot of us on this site) have felt what you've expressed in this poem...but you have expressed it so very eloquently.

Being a chocholate addict, I totally agree with the sentiment of this poem.
