My moth-eaten, threadbare life
Stands outside the door
It has a key, but stays
As the moths light upon it
Their white wings enmeshed
In the fabric of its night
Waiting until the threads are all eaten
The moths become the garments
Then fly away to another, once bright life
To leave mine bare before the entrance
As it was upon its exit
It opens through the turning of the key
The door to the strangely familiar home

This poem is just lovely. It explains why we write without becoming arrogant.

I (and I think a lot of us on this site) have felt what you've expressed in this poem...but you have expressed it so very eloquently.

Being a chocholate addict, I totally agree with the sentiment of this poem.
Great job!
