At the first, there was only lightless void and silence. Within the void there rested the great body Ëavanya – the beauty to which all things are drawn, the mother from which all things are born and the end to which all things are fated. And with her, though he was not yet aware of it, was the Great Spirit Ëavanar – the father by which all things are made and through which all things are revealed. For ages uncounted, they remained together – with each unaware of the other.
But the will of Ëavanar was never still and ever he searched within the darkness and the silence for companions to share the inspirations that welled up in him like an unstoppable spring. So too, the passions of Ëavanya were boundless in both longing and in love. And unbeknownst to the father and the mother, from their inspirations and their passions, the first spirits of the world came to be. But these too wandered in darkness alone and without any way of knowing that others dwelt in the dark with them. In later days these were called the Elohwë or first to be – the gods of the world who serve both father and mother.
Then, after a measureless span of time, a great passion arose within Ëavanya. For out of loneliness, love and longing, the great mother sang out to the darkness. And in that first of all songs there was a life and will all its own.
Thus was Aehmiel who was after called Eversong – the music of the world – born. Through Aehmiel many great works were wrought and many mysteries were revealed. But the greatest of the works of Aehmiel was the bringing of mother and creator together. For with Aehmiel there came the first sound to enter the world and from that first song came many more – like the tone of a single pure bell that then breaks into a hundred notes each different and unique, but each as pure and perfect as the first. For the voices of all who were made by mother and creator were joined through Aehmiel. And with every new birth or when creation was altered in any way it too affected the music of Aehmiel.
So the song continues – never-ending, ever-changing.
When the great mother heard the beautiful music come from her mouth and take on life, she sang on overjoyed by the fullness and beauty of sound. And the creator also heard the music and felt the song rising within him and sang out with a voice like all the winds of the world gathered into one place. Thus they were each revealed to the other – mother and creator.
Through Aehmiel’s song, their communion was perfect. And the children of Aehmiel were touch, movement, intuition and inspiration. For evermore was Aehmiel to the world as a heartbeat is to a body – both its life and its music.
And upon hearing the voice of Ëavanya through the music of Aehmiel, the creator was filled with a great love and longing. He had dwelt so long alone in the dark that the coming of her voice and of the music was like the vibration that brings forth an avalanche. Hearing that voice, Ëavanar was overcome with the desire to have her revealed to him in all her form and beauty. And the first words he sang out were – “Let there be Light! That all might see!”
And the sound of his voice was like the coming of a great wave that washed over all creation. And that spirit, as it moved through the world, came to have life and will all its own. And so the creator named him – Lumen – the spirit of light. And wherever Lumen passed, the first stars were born and so were the heavens illuminated and all of creation was revealed. In that moment, the creator gazed with love upon the mother and in the light, together, they made the first living things and the vessels that would bear them through the lifeless dark.
Thus was Lumen made and by him many things were seen and through him much life came into the world. And the offspring of Lumen were reason, knowledge, understanding and discernment. For evermore was Lumen the light of the world – the harbinger of all light.
Though the Elohwë were many, Aehmiel and Lumen were the first beloved of Ëavanar and Ëavanya. Without them, the world would have been bereft – a dark, lifeless place full of lonely spirits. For through the light and the music the Elohwë were united and Ëavanar made many wonders and from Ëavanya much of the first life of the world sprang. Since that time, many other powers have come into the world, but none were ever as pure or as wondrous as the light and the music.

A shame so many cultural myths are about violence and not something so worthwhile. Not only visionary but inclusive rather than divisive.
