You and I are walking next to a bridge
and misty rain is falling through a dense fog.
The street lights are sparkling cascades drowning
in the rolling water.
A dark blue haze and golden light make
me feel anything but green.
The lights are on in the buildings
across the water where
lovers are safe before their fireplaces
and in the wet darkness
I'd rather remain with you.
Those lights and safe buildings are burning and fading
and I want to be cold with you,
the golden beams, gray mist, and wavy darkness
and a green bridge that
we may never cross.
