My Personal Hell - Poem 3 by Charity Thomas

Fire of pain and wrath,
surrounds my heart and soul.


I fear my time on earth is nigh,
and my life I no longer control.


My love for everything I hold dear,
has fled from my exploding world.


I'm on my knees pleading,
screaming for this fire to let go.


I'm scared of turning back,
and I'm scared to let go.


If I turn back - I can always look back,
and if I let go - I'll have nothing.


The fear of both,
captivates me.


I'm spiraling deeper and deeper
into the flames.


All is lost and no one can save me -
not even from myself.
