I wasn't sure where to post something like this on goodreads, as there isn't an "add a blog" section or anything similar.
On Sunday, May 18, my husband and I lost our home to a fire. We lost everything we had, bar one another, the clothes on our backs, and three of our four pets. I was unable to find one of our cats to rescue him from the fire. Our books are gone. I'd gotten two thirds of the way through entering them on the site, which was a great help for insurance, but given that they apparently depreciate 90%, they won't be repurchased.
As we currently have no home, no new books will be purchased either, not for a long while. As such, I may be missing from goodreads for a while longer.
My love of books has not and will not diminish, and the same goes for my husband, but at this point I'm not sure when I'll have the time to sit and read once more, or the ability to buy books again. We'll see.
I'll hope that those of you I have gotten to know here will not remove me from your lists in the mean time, as one day I would like to be back, getting ideas for books from you and adding to my own list once more.
