 And so in a minute
A message sent
A seed planted
A heart changed
A life over
Memento Mori
Remember, you must die
……but is it really such a cause for tears?
There’s no need for goodbye
All the ones we’ve known reside within us
Life itself has no finality; goodbye assumes too much
As if we could hold the cosmos in our minds
Or unwind its mysteries without a knot!
No, our limitations haunt us well
Forced into a corner by fear of unknown shadows
We cower, assuming unfamiliar equals no chance of innocence
What wonders we miss for ignorance!
Most likely dying will be what you bring to it
A brightly lit flame or a quavering wisp
Yours to decide
Since the world is in truth black and white,
each colors it with his own choices
Select carefully
Myself, I choose to walk in vibrant green
Whispering “Memento Mori” with a smile
