On the radio, uh oh
you sing over again, pedaling
through 5am fog
I pump faster,
the wind a comb in my hair, hitching
on the knots
We pass a field, dark and green, lush
I wish for horses, high-necked and majestic,
to match me, their oiled muscles
canting an ancient rhythm
But when I turn to look,
it’s just you,
humming.
you sing over again, pedaling
through 5am fog
I pump faster,
the wind a comb in my hair, hitching
on the knots
We pass a field, dark and green, lush
I wish for horses, high-necked and majestic,
to match me, their oiled muscles
canting an ancient rhythm
But when I turn to look,
it’s just you,
humming.
