Spring Celebration Poem
The Purple Goopy Goop
It is quite a boring day, you see. You are bored out of your mind with nothing to do. Nothing at all. Then you see a purple goopy goop, drawing a big blue loop on your front stoop. “Stop!” you say to the purple goopy goop. The purple goopy goop continues to draw a loop. And so when you get no response, you smack that goopy goop. “How rude,” you sputter, “to draw on my front stoop; you mean ‘ol goopy goop.” “Well, pardon me,” says the goop, offended. “I must draw loops, you see, to moops! A good goopy goop must draw a loop.” Confused are you, at this goopy goop. “Most people think we goops are loopy, but really we are moopy!” “Whatever are moops and moopy?” you ask. “What a goopy goop is, of course!” Really, you think this goopy goop is loopy. “Will you please stop drawing your loop and go home? It is messing up my front stoop!” you ask. The goopy goop sighs. “I must finish my loop.” “Please speed it up.” You beg and plead. And soon the loop is done and the goopy goop goes poof! So now you are quite lonely.
