Her face mosaic, enlightening, will,
Each morn when doting heart I gaze upon,
And each evening for anguished heart I don,
Send light through colored glass on windowsill
In which I delve and bask and never fill;
Each look with decor angelic host long
And each look promise light will never wan
Til reading books of confession and still
I worship her, whose holy light is born
Within my chest. Yet I, a three-day tomb,
Will feel ecstatic ache, a crown of thorn.
For thou I sigh and yearn, tesserae womb.
Each smile sublimely may ever sustain
And each laugh hasten a miserable pain!
