I can't believe

As I read the contents of the letter, I was aware of the smile on my face. He had written to me, I had been waiting for this letter for almost a year. His name was Gregory and I am sorry to tell you this but my life was surfacing over his. Like the cloud circling a sad person, you couldn’t pull me away from him if you wanted to. But to my suprise and dispare he was taken away from me, by which some people call the army, Navy, Marines, sailors, soldiers, aviators, the Pentagon, the military-industrial but I just like to call them teenage eating gun carrying terrorists. They had sent him a drafting paper two weeks before my 18th birthday. And you know what he just said to me, “Hey girly, I need to do this, for my country, for my family, and most of all for you. But this can only happen if you give me up but I sware I will be back before you even know it and then we can live our live together, forever, I promise.” The jeeps had already come to pick him up and with this he picked up his bags and took me into his arms and kissed me softly on the check.
It had been 2 years since he had been drafted for the war and I had only gotten 3 letters from him, this was the fourth. I tore it open and looked deep inside it, to see that there was a several pieces of paper in it and there was also I picture. I took it into my pink fingers and stuck it up to my nose. In all my years I thought that one of my most usful senses was my nose. I could always get a distinct sense of where the object had been and who had touched it. It smelt of old spice and embers. I opened the first piece of paper, my heart beat with happiness.

I have missed you so. Everything here is so smelly and not at all made for humans, I could only imagine what you would say if you saw it. They are having a dance at the mesh hall tomorrow and one of the nurses had asked me if I wanted to go with her but I told her that I had a girl back home and I would never betray her. I hope you can take this ok and I hope what I said is ok with you?
We have been taking a lot of time in the forest, there is nothing else to do but wait. So that is what I am doing right now I hope they don’t get mad at me……..
