ANNOCEMENT
“What is wrong with you?” I asked, for I had noticed since my senses were now better than ever after feeding.
“You didn’t have to lead him on so much,” he said, looking at the ground, “he would have gone with you anyway.”
I smirked once I realized his tone.
“Are you jealous?” I asked, knowing full well that he was. He looked up at me and bit his lip.
“Maybe,” he said, “I am not really sure. I mean, I know that you did it because you needed to get him alone, but still…wasn’t it a little much?”
I laughed at him. He rose and started to walk away, embarrassed at his confession, but I knew that if he left now, it would be hard to get him back. That was the last thing I wanted at right then.
I got off my rock too; all of my laughter was gone. Hearing the sudden stop of my amusement, his head swiveled; fearing the worst.
I strutted towards him, letting my hair sway in the wind. I put on my most bewitching smile and started trying to bring him in with my eyes that were burning with desire. I put my arms around his shoulders and gazed deeply into his golden eyes.
“You can’t get me that easily,” he whispered, but I smelled an easy victory. I leaned in to him, letting my mouth fall right by his ear.
“I love a challenge,” I replied, letting the word ‘love’ drag out a little longer than necessary. He let me rest my head on his broad shoulder, and in the next instant I felt his warm touch on the small of my back. I gasped, loving the way it made me feel. Feeling empowered by my last response he tried to move his hand lower, but I broke away from his embrace. I smiled.
“You were saying?” I question; I knew that I had won. He suddenly looked like a child who didn’t get the toy he wanted.
“You can’t just lead me on like that and then leave me hanging.”
I smiled brightly for him.
“Just did,” I said, turning away, but it was impossible for he had grabbed my arm and was pulling me towards him. I was forced to stare into his gorgeous eyes that were more enticing now because he was trying to pull me in.
“You can’t get me that easy,” I mimicked, but even as I said it, I couldn’t look away from his eyes. He leaned toward my ear.
“Yes I can,” he said irresistibly. He sounded so sure of himself, that I believed him. His breath hit my ear and sent a chill down my spine and all the way to my toes. Breathing was suddenly very hard and my heart beat went wild, and I knew that he heard. He smirked at his success and leaned back so his face was right in front of mine. I suddenly really wanted to kiss him…badly. I knew it was his hypnotizing that brought this urge on, but I didn’t care. I just didn’t want it anymore…I needed it.
He let go of me and took two steps backwards. I could tell that he didn’t want to, but he was so stubborn that he had to prove that he had won. The look on my face was sincere longing. I closed my eyes and tried to control my breathing.
“Please,” I whispered it so softly it could hardly be considered a whisper. His face portrayed desire, but he was not about to give in.
“Only if you say I win.”
That was a cheap shot. My stubbornness overpowers every other feeling in my body…at least that is what I had believed before I had experienced this kind of passion. I had to put on the line my longing for him, or my stubbornness. For the first time in my life, I made my stubbornness lose. I opened my eyes and sighed.
“You win.”
He was by me in seconds, looking first to gaze in my eyes, then brought his lips down to mine. Within milliseconds I was lost in him. Everything about us was together; we were one and the same. My heart beat was accelerating along with his. I gripped his hair, holding him in a cage that I would never let him out of. We kissed for what could have been hours, but the logical side of my brain,(which was fading in and out), said that it could only have been a couple of minuets. We both pulled back at the same time, gasping for breath. As I regained control of my heart I looked up at him.
“That was interesting,” I breathed.
“I’ll say.”
We looked at each other for a long time, while we regained our composure.
“We have stayed here for too long, we must keep moving..” I nodded in agreement for I didn’t trust myself with words.
We walked longer than usual, for we have more strength now than we did before. We didn’t talk at all on our trip; we were still too embarrassed by what had happened this morning.
By the time we reached our next stopping place, I still didn’t know what to say to him, so I said nothing. As I lay down to sleep he said the first and last words.
“Goodnight my darling.”
