Do you read your book after it’s published?
Sunday, March 30, 2008
As an author, I need to ask you; do you read your books after they’re published?
My Poetry Eyes was released early on March 2008, and I’m still reading it. I’m sick of revising, yet I still pick it up and read some pages every day as if it’s not mine. It’s not out of admiration, but because -subconsciously- I feel that I might find more mistakes I may avoid in the future. Sometimes, I read as if I lost some parts of my self and expect to find them hidden between its lines.
Is this a syndrome that affects newly published authors, or is it my personality that keeps going back and forth rereading my published books?
I know I worked hard on both of my books, and I see some things I wish I could change, but when will I move on?
And what if I wrote a book that has 300 pages; will I still be interested in rereading it again and again, or will I forget about it and think of my next one?
