On the frozen ground.
Aya's breath
Freezes in mid-air
A cloud of mist and ice
In the clear air.
Mostly clear.
Three teenagers sit near
On the edge of the frozen pool
Calling out at her, jeering.
They are smoking, and the smoke
Pains her lungs.
But she just presses on
Pouring her soul
Into her silver blades and leather skates.
