A Firefighter in the Family

Miranda “Randi” Cooke grew up in Horizon Beach and followed in the footsteps of her grandfather, father and brothers when she became a firefighter. But a tragic mistake led to estrangement from her family, the end of a romantic relationship that was just beginning, and her leaving her hometown behind. But now she’s back – in her professional capacity as a state arson investigator. She arrives with her partner, a German shepherd named Thor, to investigate a potential arson. But in addition to chasing down leads, she also has to face her family and Zac Parker, the man she once loved.

Zac Parker has done his best to forget the past and get on with his life. After all, what’s the use of focusing on his lost career as a firefighter, a career a lie stripped away? Or on the woman he also lost because of his own stupid mistake? No, he’s a man who just wants to run his beach bar and live for the present.
