MISSION:
Earth Action Right Now informs, educates, and inspires all people to strive for care, protection, and love of our home, Earth, and the species that inhabit it, through direct, practical action every day.

APPROACH:
At present Earth is the only inhabitable planet in our solar system, as far as we know.
In existence for billions of years, it is unlikely that the present group of humans will destroy it, though maybe each other.
However, each of us needs to take action to continue its habitability for all species concerned.

Perhaps you have some doubts?

Some humans believe that our presence on Earth is a gift, thereby allowing us to do as we please.
However, if you take a closer look you realize that your existence is a privilege. Humans are just one of millions of species populating the planet. Certainly we have not been here the longest, either. For instance, dolphins have remained unchanged in their present state for 15 million years.

PURPOSE:
We strongly urge you to re-orient your thinking about our place in the world, especially with an ever-increasing market globalization.

As indicated by the acronym, E.A.R.N., we suggest that humans must earn their presence on Earth by taking actions that care for and protect the planet and its inhabitants each and every day.

“How Do You Want To Help?”
FACTS:
>Cigarette butts can take up to 7 years to breakdown, during which time birds and other wildlife may pick them up, perceiving it as food, and die

>Longline fishing has killed 3.7 million sharks and 400, 000 marlin, in the Pacific Ocean alone

>Recycling is a positive step, but still a Band-aid to the problem of over-consumption

>Styrofoam, in any form, does not decompose, ever!

>The world’s landfills are already filled with plastic bags and plastic water bottles

>Since 1979, the polar ice cap has decreased by one third, according to leading scientists. Global warming is a reality

“The earth does not belong to us. We belong to the earth.”
Chief Seattle

Become a SEAL: Do an action in each category! Here are some suggestions:

Sea: Buy sustainable seafood. Go to this site and learn which fish not to purchase www.montereybayaquarium.org/seafoodwatch...

Air: In December, during holiday times, buy a living tree to be replanted in your yard
or in nature, rather than a pre-cut one

Land: Each time you take a walk try to pick up one piece of trash and dispose of it, preferably through recycling

Be limitless, think of your own! Send us your ideas.
"Until he extends his circle of compassion to include all living things, man will not, himself, find peace."
Albert Schweitzer

“Wolves directly affect the entire ecosystem, not just moose populations, their main prey, because less moose equals more tree growth”
Rolf Peterson, professor of Ecology
