First Light
White sand turned damp
at water’s brim. Waves defeated
by the shore. All those
in graves where grass
is cut too short. All
poems of morning
that never get it right.
Clouds rimmed with pink,
light from the east, all these,
and radios, gathered
here around the edge
of morning.

What a neat poem, all those rather unconnected things here marvelously connected.

It is a cool morning, and I see the smoke from fireplaces billowing in the breeze. A very moody piece. A lot to like.
