I was informed resently that Barbie and Ken were actually real people (Walt Disney's kids I think, but I'm not sure.)But even though this poem is all wrong, I still thought I'd put it on here. No offence to the real Barbie and Ken, of course... Enjoy:



~ BARBIE AND KEN ~

Barbie and Ken fell in love one day,
And so they went to the Lover’s Parade.
They sat and watched the lover’s go by,
And were so bored, they thought they’d die.

“How cute…” said Barbie, politely.
“How charming…” said Ken, slightly.
“Oh, who are we kidding, this is so dull!
Why don’t we all, go to the mall!”

And so they left, on Barbie’s suggestion,
Hoping after that, they wouldn’t get indigestion.
They shopped and shopped, all day long,
Pausing occasionally, to sing a song.

When the day ended, and it became night,
They forced themselves to stop, with all their might.
“Oh, I’m having so much fun!” Barbie said.
Ken replied, “Well, it’s not the end!
There’s much more to do, so hold on tight!
Let’s go out, and fly a kite!”

Barbie and Ken were married very soon,
And went to Hawaii for their honey moon.
As they looked very close at a volcano,
Ken said, “Why don’t we go play Halo?!”

But as they walked on down the hill,
They heard a noise, and stood very still.
“What’s that?” cried Barbie, “Oh no!” yelled Ken,
And the volcano erupted on the count of ten.

And so, to honor them, and make them proud,
A doll was given to every girl in a crowd.
The girl one was Barbie, the boy one was Ken,
And they were so popular, they were made, again and again.

And so, to this day, as you all know,
Barbie and Ken are all about show.

They’re sold everywhere, even in Greece!
