Things I can't remember about you
One time when I was little,
I could remember things.
These things were very small,
but they made all the difference,
to someone like me.
Someone who has not seen,
their mother for so long.
I could remember the exact color of your skin,
also th color of your hair.
The amount of crimp that was is it, but most of all your face.
I could see your loving face.
These are the things that I could see,
in my mind that I recalled of you.
Now I can barely remember what color your eyes were,
let alone your whole face or hair,
all I can clearly visualize now is the crimped hair.
Which is not enough for me to know,
if I even resemble you.
To the two year old that I was,
You looked so very old,
but now I know that you were the age that I am now.
I realize that it is not so.
I am not mad at you though,
for I have a good life now.
I just wish I could have seen you one last time before you went,
to join the grandparents that I never got to meet.
At least as far as I know.
I miss you mother,
but I have a life to live.
I know you would be proud of me,
for what I am now.
I hope that you understand and are in heaven now.
If I could just see your face just one last time I would be happy.
That is what I can't remember about you the most.
