Dr. Seuss is awesome primarily because he can spin words AND create a great teaching story that kids will love. Also, Horton is one cool elephant. HHTE tells the story of a dependable elephant who gets a job and sticks to it. In the end, he's rewarded with love, which is--ultimately--what all of us want. Funny illustrations and a lot of drama = good reading time for the kiddies.
Good with: grape juice and sugar cookies (egg-shaped, of course)
