I had not been a huge fan of the original Pride and Prejudice (probably because I had to study it in school), so I was looking forward to this much hyped zombie version that sounded like a lot of fun.

I admit was I amused (in were zombies, out were the often tedious and more subtle passages), but the overly violent protrayal of Elizabeth Bennet was difficult to relate to. And there was quite a bit of bathroom humour.

Clearly the authors... well, Grahame-Smith, has no problem poking fun at his rendition of this classic as seen in the mildly clever "A Readers Discussion Guide".

Overall: A silly romp. I'm not likely to recommend it anyone who loved the original, but it would be a good on the beach read for someone who a) knows the original story, and b) who also likes silliness of zombies.
