What can I say...What a ride!
This book started off really slow for me. I was wondering why everyone was telling me to read it. Suddenly, it became interesting. I could not put the book down. The dialogue was clever, the action was exciting.
The world building is well done. I felt the bleak devastation of a city ravaged by waves of magic. I could visualize the different creatures that inhabited this world: the were-creatures led by the Beast Lord Curran, the zombie-like vampires controlled by necromancers, and the humans.
I liked all of the characters, especially Kate.
