I feel like this is a book that so many women have been touched by that it just absolutely nullifies generation gaps. My grandmother gave me a set of the first 3 books when I was 5 or 6, and I have loved them since. I fell in love with Anne (with an E) as a child, but my 6 year old self couldn't relate to the "grown up" Anne of the ripe old age of 16 in Anne of Avonlea. I just kept re-reading Anne of Green Gables until I could relate to Anne of Avonlea. I feel like I've grown up with her ever since - reading the books as I went.

Yup. Still love this book an unreasonable amount. (view spoiler) Will probably read this another 50 times in my lifetime.
