Probably my favorite Koontz thus far. Contains the evilest bad-guy and the best good-guys of any of his novels I've yet read. The antagonist's POV is used for perhaps 50% of the book, and the "unreliable narrator" technique is employed to very nice effect. The good guys are all lovable, if too good to be true - but who cares, they're nice! There's enough humor (some of it very nicely ironic) to keep the book lighter than its subject matter would suggest, too. As in most of his books in which supernatural elements appear one can complain about a "deus ex machina" ending, but this is perhaps forgivable in context. :) All in all, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
