Three Cups of Tea: One Man's Mission to Promote Peace . . . One School at a Time by Greg Mortenson
This is an amazing account of one man's struggle to build schools in Pakistan and Afghanistan. One of the things I found fascinating about this book is that he understands and lived in these areas during the extremist uprising. As the Saudi's brought their money into these remote areas and built schools that churn out jihadists, the author was struggling to provide a balanced education to boys and girls. If our country's answer continues to be "shock and awe", we will only continue to embolden the jihadist movement.
