I continue to enjoy the story and the characters, but this one felt darker than some of the other books. I appreciate the complexity of the Underland people and politics (fantastical politics are easier to stomach than the real world). However, this book lacks the same unity or sense of working toward a common goal. Without that element, I felt less drawn to the characters and their struggles. I hope the final book leads to a happier end.
