Historical fiction that will appeal to girls and boys. With a strong 19th century heroine, girls will particularly enjoy this book. Charlotte is transformed from a pampered young lady into a tomboy who can hold her own on a ship run amok. Adventure is high, but it takes about a third of the book for it to become interesting.
