This is a great little book. It made me feel nostalgic for real book stores and real letters, but I also feel privileged to have been allowed to peek through this small window into Helene Hanff's world. I love to think of her rolling the paper into her manual typewriter, composing her letters to Frank Doel, then waiting weeks and months for his return parcels. (I get so impatient if I have to wait longer than a few days on an order from Amazon.)

I love Hanff's wit and her generosity. This book is a true testament of how books bring people together. Our book group read it along with The Guernsey Literary and Potato Peel Pie Society, and the two compliment each other nicely.

I also recommend the movie. Anne Bancroft and Anthony Hopkins were great.
