i read this during christmas 2009, ironically =) what i did like about it was that it got me to think differently about christianity and the role of the devil, who according to lavey, doesnt exist. this book is not what you might think it is. there is nothing scary about it. lavey is basically an atheist/humanist. ive read that it was made in a hurry and thus, many ideas were plagiarized (e.g. nietzsche, might is right), which is why i gave it a lower rating. if you read this you also need to read the writings of john d. allee and diane vera to get a well rounded view of satanism. lavey is just one flavor (and john allee has interesting insights about lavey). see these sites:
http://churchofsatan.org (allee)
http://alleeshadowtradition.com (allee)
http://theisticsatanism.com (vera)
http://churchofsatan.com (lavey)

again, you will be surprised how tame and non-scary satanism really is. it is nothing like what the media and movies portray it to be.

here is my rather lengthy, in-depth review of this book: http://amultiverse.blogspot.com/2009/...
