it was ok

I was about to give this book three stars. It's standard Lackey fare - the good guys are good, the bad guys are bad, and the HEA is assured. I did like her "behind the scenes" explanation of the old fairy tales. The Snow Queen is my favorite Hans Christian Anderson tale, with the shards of ice and the wicked little robber girl.

However, the poor editing kept bugging me and drove it down to two stars. Twice that I can recall she writes the same scene twice and outright contradicts herself. The first time, they bury the bodies and go through the loot. Cut to another character, cut back to them, and they bury the bodies a second time and come up with an entirely different set of loot. The second time, a character introduces herself and is recognized and welcomed. A few scenes later, she introduces herself again to the same characters, is not recognized and is decidedly unwelcome.

I don't think I'll be continuing this series.
