Stardust by Neil Gaiman (Goodreads author!)
It started off fabulously. I was hooked and the words just flew off the page. The story unfolded so nicely, but it climaxed about halfway through, and the rest of the story kind of petered out. I suppose it didn't help that I had seen the movie first and I have to say I did enjoy the movie more. The book is much darker and violent, which can be a good think if you like that sort of thing. But for such a dark book it had a bit of a silly disney-esque ending between the antagonist and protagonist. There were many times while reading I felt the craving to watch the movie again and ended up watching the movie three times while reading the book. I loved the first half of the book but found the second half disappointing, still overall I found it enjoyable.
